Yana Petkova, Dipl.WSET, has been working in the Bulgarian wine industry for over twenty years, dedicating the last few to organic, biodynamic, and natural wines. She is an advocate for purity in wine, which means she is uncompromising when it comes to any defect masquerading as an effect. She writes and teaches about wine, is co-owner of the largest online store for natural wines, Vinoto.com, and is co-founder of miniMaXimal – the first natural wine festival with international participation in Bulgaria.

In recent years, Portugal has become a serious player on the natural wine scene. Excellent terroir, local varieties, old vines, and complete dedication to nature make the country a cornucopia of wine. Lisbon is a particularly bright star, giving its name to one of Portugal’s most exciting wine regions.
The class will show in depth the diversity of local varieties from the Atlantic coast and, presenting respected names from the world of wine, will aim not only to provide a good introduction to this region, but also to introduce the idea of biodynamics.
